The UK airline is introducing complimentary fast onboard wifi through Starlink agreement
Flyers flying with the airline can soon access quick internet in the air at no cost following a recent deal with Elon Musk's satellite provider.
Complimentary and High-speed Internet for All
British Airways announced that the free, “fast and dependable” internet offering through Starlink will be available to travelers flying coach, business, or premium cabins from soon.
Expanded Rollout Over Several Airlines
The parent firm of BA, IAG, stated it had finalized an agreement with the satellite firm to provide connectivity access on over 500 jets within their operators, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
Seamless Connectivity starting at Gate to Arrival
The airline noted that this rollout for the service was included in a multi-billion pound “modernization” initiative and will provide smooth internet coverage for flyers starting at the gate to arrival, even when traveling above large bodies of water or isolated areas.
Customers will be able to connect numerous gadgets and they will not require a unique password.

Current Wifi Offerings
Limited wifi service is currently provided for British Airways flyers across the majority of its jets through their .air platform.
Enrollees in BA’s loyalty club may send communications and plain-text messages during flights without paying, whereas travelers looking to access music, films, and movies on their flight if not travelling in business or first may pay from £4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine per connectivity package.

Ongoing Developments for the Airline
BA's executive team have been focusing to turn British Airways around following a long time of budget reductions, technology issues, labor disputes, and staff cuts.
BA noted that implementation of smart technology contributed to them to bring its punctuality to the best levels from 2012.
Earnings Outlook
Recently, BA reported a rise in operating profits for the first half of this year, contributing to the parent company profit to grow.

The airline's news comes days after wireless operator Virgin Media O2 said it was partnering with SpaceX to improve wireless service across remote areas of the UK, enabling consumers to easily hook up phones through space-based systems when no regular mobile signal can be found.
