The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
