The New England Patriots tied their best victory streak since the Brady period as they overcame AFC East rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's closing campaign with the team in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph increases the Patriots advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had gone in front at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields running in a short rushing score to cap the Jets' opening drive

But the Patriots answered in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields found Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the win
