Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes overnight. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were anticipating further attacks.
