American-Palestinian Adolescent Liberated Following 270 Days in Israeli Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American youth who spent a nine-month period in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention in February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care right after being freed, family members reported.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"Right now, we're concentrating on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires following exposure to harsh conditions and brutal treatment for months."

The state department stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance than the safety and security of American nationals"," officials stated.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the White House, urging greater action to release him.

Mohammed's parent, parent of four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

There were no visits nor direct contact since the arrest, and only heard regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

He stayed absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and homicide.

There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.

Numerous remain uncharged while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.

This young American-Palestinian according to health authorities was beaten to death by Israeli settlers following tensions in July.

Mohammed and Sayfollah had worked together in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed with Sayfollah's killing.

"We anticipate United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
